IC CHARACTERISTICS
CURRENT CANON POINT: Season 3, Episode 21, "Avatar Aang." She's coming directly from healing up Zuko after defeating Azula in a bending match.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: For all her power, Katara does not strike an imposing figure. She's short and petite, her bright blue eyes contrasting with her warm tan skin and dark hair. She's kitted out in traditional Water Tribe apparel, minus the parka, and keeps her hair in distinctly tribal styles as well.

DEMEANOR: Katara is definitely the 'mom friend' of the group, often fussing over and looking out for people. At fourteen, she's going through a lot of changes in her life; she's very passionate, so she can go from happy and cheerful one minute to angry and brooding the next, but she's generally the one to try and lift everyone's spirits. She can be too trusting at times.
ABILITIES: As a master waterbender, Katara can manipulate vast quantities of water. She can levitate it, cause it to freeze and melt, and make mist. She also has the ability to bend the water inside of things like plants, or even people, but she hates bloodbending and has only used it twice: once to save her friends' lives and once on the man she believed was her mother's murderer.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Katara is a healthy human girl with no known illnesses or allergies.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Coming from a war-torn society, Katara gets a little touchy on the subject, especially as it relates to her mother's death. Also, acting like she's not capable of doing things (or that she's required to do certain things) because she's young or a girl is one of the fastest ways to set her off.
IC PERMISSIONS
MENTAL: Her mind is an open book.
MIMICRY: Yeah, she doesn't love it! Especially considering she just came from a play about her and her friends where the portrayal of her was... n o t super flattering.


VIOLENCE: Be prepared to handle water whips and ice daggers. Her physical strength and speed are average, but she's an incredibly powerful waterbender.
MAGIC: She'd be susceptible to magic.
DEBATE: Depends on the topic. Katara can be argumentative, and she tends to get frustrated and storm off when she's had enough.
OTHER / NOTES: Katara is approaching adulthood (age sixteen in her tribe) but she's not there yet. She doesn't like being pandered to or coddled because of her age, and sexism will get you a faceful of water.
